7 Years of SMotographers: Our Journey 🎉

Today marks a special milestone for us – 7 years of SMotographers! 🎂 It’s incredible to look back and see how far we’ve come from two photography-enthusiastic friends at school to where we are today.

The Beginning: School Friends with a Shared Passion 📸

It all started during our time at Kantonsschule, where we discovered our mutual fascination for photography. What began as friendly competition – constantly challenging each other to capture better shots and push our creative boundaries – soon evolved into something much bigger.

Those early days were filled with:

  • Spontaneous photo walks around town
  • Sharing techniques and critiquing each other’s work
  • Staying up late editing photos and discussing camera settings
  • The excitement of each new shoot and learning experience

Founding SMotographers: From Fun to Profession 🚀

Initially, SMotographers was born purely out of fun – a platform where we could share our photos and document our photographic journey together. The name itself represents our partnership and shared vision for creating stunning visual content.

As time went on, our ambitions naturally grew more professional. We realized we had something special and decided to turn our passion into a business opportunity.

Building Our Digital Presence 💻

The next logical step was creating our own website where we could offer our photographic services professionally. Over the years, this website has undergone numerous transformations:

  • Multiple redesigns reflecting our evolving style and capabilities
  • Expanded service offerings as we grew our skills
  • Improved user experience to better serve our clients
  • Enhanced portfolio showcases displaying our best work

Despite all these changes, our core goals remained constant: creating high-quality content and imagery for both our clients and our community.

Expanding into Educational Content 📚

Last year marked another significant evolution in our journey. We began focusing more heavily on creating educational content for our channels and external platforms. Before we started our own blog, we were already creating content for external blogs and producing educational reels for Instagram. This shift allowed us to:

  • Share our knowledge and experience with fellow photographers
  • Build a stronger connection with the photography community
  • Establish ourselves as trusted voices in the industry
  • Help others improve their photography skills

The Present: A New Chapter ✨

This year has brought perhaps our biggest transformation yet. We’ve completely restructured our website and expanded into creating original written content specifically for the photography community. This new direction includes:

  • In-depth tutorials and technique guides
  • Equipment reviews and recommendations
  • Experience reports from our photographic daily life
  • Travel blogs (coming soon! 😉)
  • And much more – we have many exciting ideas in the pipeline!

Looking Forward 🔮

As we celebrate these 7 years, we’re excited about what lies ahead. Our journey from two school friends with cameras to creating educational content has been a learning experience – and all of this alongside our studies! 🎓

Balancing studies with our photographic work wasn’t always easy, but our passion for photography kept us motivated. We’re grateful for every opportunity we’ve had to grow and learn.

Thank you 🙏 to everyone who has been part of this journey – our clients who trusted us with their special moments, our community members who engage with our content, and everyone who has supported SMotographers along the way.

Here’s to continuing our journey of creating, learning, and sharing our passion for photography! 🥂

What started as a friendship based on photography has grown into something we never imagined. The journey continues, and we can’t wait to see where the next 7 years will take us.
